Powerball Jackpot Hits $500M After No Winner Last Night

The Powerball jackpot climbed to $500 million after no tickets matched all six numbers in Saturday night's drawing. The winning numbers were 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 with Powerball 5 and Power Play 2x.

Lottery officials confirmed Sunday morning that the April 26 drawing produced no grand prize winner. This marks the 32nd consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner, fueling the prize's rapid growth since January.

The $500 million prize (annuity value) ranks as the ninth-largest in Powerball history. Winners can choose a $240 million lump-sum cash option before taxes. The next drawing occurs Wednesday, April 29 at 10:59 PM ET.

Saturday's near-miss results included 13 tickets matching five numbers to win $1 million each. These were sold in California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

The jackpot surge comes as Powerball fever grips the nation, with ticket sales spiking 78% compared to last month. Gas stations and convenience stores reported long lines Saturday as players chased the life-changing prize.

Powerball is played in 45 states plus Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Odds of winning the jackpot remain 1 in 292.2 million. The last grand prize winner hit $1.3 billion in Oregon on April 6.

Lottery analysts attribute the current jackpot run to recent rule changes that lowered odds for smaller prizes while making jackpots grow faster. The $500 million milestone guarantees continued national attention through Wednesday's drawing.

Financial advisors warn winners to immediately sign their tickets and consult attorneys before claiming. The current jackpot would rank among the 20 largest lottery prizes ever awarded in U.S. history if won this week.
